Dance and Game night:

Both activities will be in the Hearn Ballroom and will have adult supervision.

Cotillion-Style Dance Class

Historically, dance has been an important social skill. Even our country’s military academies make dance lessons mandatory for young cadets. Dance education develops grace, poise, posture and coordination, and has been proven to be an inherent part of our culture.

In keeping with this, NCHE will host a cotillion-style dance on Thursday evening from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. There will be instruction on dances such as swing, box step, and line dancing. Our instructor for this evening is Dennis Ritchie, a homeschool dad who has taught cotillion for over twenty-five years. His teaching style puts any student at ease regardless of their ability and minimizes pairing up.

There is no special dress for the dance - just whatever your teens are wearing to the conference will be fine.

Games Social

On Friday night, just after the talent show and until 11:30 p.m., we will have a games social. NCHE will provide cards, board games and group games for our teens and alumni to play, while they get to know others from across the state.

Be aware that there IS a curfew for the Marriot and the Embassy Suites hotels during the conference. All young people are to be back in their rooms by 12:00 midnight.

Time for Graduation:
