Charles Nettles

Charles Nettles and his wife, Sarah, are in their twenty-eighth year of homeschooling. Their eight children (ages thirty-four to eleven) have always been homeschooled. Their four older children have all completed college (two with master’s and two in progress). Their fifth is a college sophomore and the sixth is a college freshman. As a family, they take extended “field trips” across the country visiting national parks and monuments—one year going all the way to Alaska. Charles is active in their church where he is a deacon and teaches Sunday school. He is involved in 4-H on the district and state levels. He is on the board of the local concert association. In his “spare time” he works for Duke Energy at the McGuire Nuclear Station.
