April Briley

Joseph (Joe) and April Briley are high school sweethearts and have been married for sixteen years. They live in Greenville, NC, with their three children. Marisa is fourteen, Brandon is eleven and Makayla is two. SGT Joseph Briley is a full-time soldier serving with the North Carolina National Guard. April enjoys being the full-time teacher of their three children. The family spends time serving in various areas of their church.

April initially found out about homeschooling at the end of her fifth grade year, when a friend was pulled out of school to be homeschooled for middle school. When she was pregnant with their first child, the Lord directed them to homeschool. She found out that a few friends were homeschooling their children and connected with them to find out more information. Shortly thereafter, the family joined their local Pitt County homeschool support group, H.O.M.E. (Home Educators Organized for Ministry and Encouragement), to gain more information, support and connections on their homeschooling journey. April has served as the secretary for H.O.M.E. since 2007 and recently accepted the position as president of the group.

April is the newly elected NCHE regional liaison for regions 10 and 12.
