Welcome to Region 3

Counties: Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham, Rowan, Yadkin

Larry and Fran Jones

Larry and Fran Jones were appointed as the NCHE regional liaisons for region 3 in 2014. They joined NCHE in the spring of 2006 and have homeschooled their two sons, Matthew and William, for 10 years. This year, Matthew is a sophomore at the University of Kentucky studying Agricultural and Medical Biotechnology and William is a freshman at the University of Kentucky on a pre-vet track.  Thus, the actual homeschool journey ceased but the lessons learned from homeschooling undergird Matthew and William each day as they make decisions and navigate the challenges of college.  The Jones family lives in Salisbury on a small hobby farm, and Larry works in Concord for an engineering firm. They enjoy being outside hiking and canoeing and caring for their animals.  Fran and Larry are delighted to have this opportunity to share what they have learned during their homeschool journey and to encourage others along the way.
