Come with NCHE on our first-ever group trip to Grandfather Mountain in Linville!  Our visit will include complete access to all that Grandfather Mountain has to offer including:

participating in the Young Naturalist program (pick up a booklet that serves as a guide for things to discover; receive a certificate and wooden “badge” upon completion; geared for 5-10 yo but other ages welcome)

learning about native plant species by touring the Cobey Botanical Garden

strolling through the Pollinator Garden to spot butterflies, bees, moths and hummingbirds going about their work

exploring the Wilson Center for Nature Discovery with its numerous interactive learning stations and films

taking a selfie at Sphinx Rock and Split Rock

hearing from a naturalist on a tour of the animal habitat area

traversing the famous “Mile High Swinging Bridge” (handicap accessible)

and hiking, birding, picnicking and exploring the plentiful paths.

Choose from either the morning (9:30-10 a.m. arrival) or afternoon (12:30-1 p.m. arrival).  Visitors typically explore for about 3 hours. This is a rain or shine field trip.  Our discounted admission includes access to all public areas of the Mountain and the naturalist led tour of the animal habitat.  Prices (which include all taxes and fees):  Adults $26; Students (defined as 5-18 yo) $9.75; Preschoolers (0-4 yo): FREE. Tickets are transferable to others for the same day but are non-refundable.  Tickets may be purchased until noon on Friday, September 26, 2025, or while supply lasts.

NOTE:  Registrants will be divided into smaller groups in order to not overcrowd the various areas.  The best way to be in the same group with friends is for one person in the group to register for everyone.  If you find out later that a friend has registered separately, please contact Evelyn Bickley (below) so we can pair you together.
