2017-2018 NCHE Athletic Tournaments

NCHE Athletic Commission (NCHEAC) operates under North Carolinians for Home Education (NCHE) to provide leagues and tournaments in the traditional high school sports.

GOAL

Provide homeschool athletes with the opportunity to participate on a high school level team similar to what they could experience if in a private or public school.

DISTINCTIVES

Our homeschool teams consist of only homeschooled athletes and are primarily coached by homeschool parents, many of whom have high school and/or college experience. We follow the rules of the National Federation of High Schools and have a level of competiveness found on many school teams while preserving a high level sportsmanship. We have a level of competition which exceeds recreational sports but does not place undue travel demands on families found with “travel ball” teams.

AGES

Beginning with middle school age (approximately age eleven) thru high school (under nineteen years old).

FORMAT

The individual sports of cross country, golf, and swimming are held in conjunction with the team championships. Team sports above are divided into either two regions or four conferences as needed for regular season play. Regional tournaments are held in basketball, boys soccer, and volleyball with teams advancing to states. State championships are held in all sports and acknowledged with medals and trophies.

ALL-STAR GAMES

Teams are picked and compete to assist with college recruiting as sports grow.
