Depending on the students plans for after high school, he may need to have documentation of what he accomplished during his high school years. More than likely, no one will ever ask for any records from elementary or middle school, but that is not true for high school. There are different ways to keep and present this documentation. The most common way to document the academic achievement is with a transcript. A transcript is a basically a list of courses your student has taken and the credit earned and grade associated with each course. You can see sample transcripts in the transcript section. Other ways include a portfolio of the students work, such as papers, art work, awards. Keep track of every class taken, books read–both fiction and non-fiction, outside activities, service and leadership opportunities, awards and work.
