We will go over how homeschooling your autistic child differs from a typical homeschool. We cover a little bit of neuroscience and how stress affects them, and why it’s important that they have autonomy over their day and their education.

Cheryl Vandegrift, along with her sister, Allyx, are neurodivergent coaches and educators. They are on a mission to help families, professionals, and educators understand autism and ADHD to better support the neurodivergent people in their lives. Cheryl is an Air Force veteran with a bachelor of psychology, and she is actually autistic with ADHD herself, giving valuable insights into how the autistic mind works and processes the world. Allyx is a former science teacher, was certified in early childhood development, and has over six years of experience working for CPS as a respite care provider for special needs foster children, and she has ADHD as well. They have both been homeschooling their children for years, and each have a child on the spectrum. Allyx will be joining Cheryl virtually for her talk.
