Building a Solid Math Foundation—Because Confidence Matters
Just like a house needs a strong foundation to stand tall, children need a solid base in math to tackle more complex ideas with confidence. Without a solid foundation, things can start to crumble. In this session, you’ll learn simple, effective ways to teach math from the ground up, helping children understand the basics in a way that builds their confidence. When kids have a solid math foundation, they don’t just get the right answers—they feel empowered to keep growing, trying, and even enjoying math as they advance to more challenging concepts.
Eve Hullette was inspired by her father from the time she was small to love mathematics. To him, math was a puzzle to solve or a game to play. His curiosity was contagious. After earning a BS in applied mathematics from NCSU, her passion for solving logical and mathematical problems led her to a computer-programming career. One very kind husband and three children later, she has focused her love for learning on homeschooling her own children with her first entering university. She loves to encourage other homeschooling families on their journey—and especially to share practical ways to ignite a love for math in students that currently find it impossible or boring.
