Whether you have a struggling writer, a bored writer, a non-writer, or something in between, building a strong writer in your student is achievable and an important learning goal. Practical tips will be presented, including how to incorporate writing activities into a variety of subjects, how to start small for big results, and how to properly scaffold writing from the start of your school year to the end of it. This workshop highlights the importance of strong writing skills and how easy writing activities can be used to transform your student to an effective communicator and strong writer.

Dr. Janice Broyles is an English professor with over 20 years of experience. She earned her doctorate in educational leadership and considers it an honor and privilege to teach others, as well as her own children. She is also an author of more than seven award-winning books and the owner of Late November Literary, a small publisher located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She is the proud mother of two sons, Jonathan and Benjamin. Jonathan is now a law enforcement officer, and Benjamin is sixteen and in the eleventh grade. Janice and her husband, John, decided that providing the best education for their sons starts at home. She and her family are from the great state of Michigan but now currently reside in the lovely (and much warmer) state of North Carolina.
