Raising Life-Long Learners
You will not be able to impart all the facts and teach all the skills your children will need for life before they leave your home! But you can give them the skills needed to be a life-long learner. Do they know how to find, understand, evaluate, and synthesize important information? Matthew will share some critical learning skills from the book, How to Read a Book by Mortimer Adler and Charles Van Doren. This workshop will help you release your children into life with confidence that they can learn anything and everything necessary for success!
Matthew McDill and his wife, Dana, live in North Carolina with the youngest four of their nine children. Of those who have left home, the four oldest are married. They have been homeschooling for 25 years and have served together on the North Carolinians for Home Education (NCHE) board for more than a decade. For the past six years, Matthew has served as NCHE’s executive director. Together, Matthew and Dana enjoy mentoring young parents and speaking on topics related to following Christ, discipleship, parenting, and homeschooling.
