Teens and Alumni Activities<\/h2>\n

NCHE plans social activities to encourage the friendships of our teens and alumni. All of these activities will have adult supervision.<\/p>\n

Teens & Alumni Cotillion-Style Dance: Thursday, <\/strong>7:30-9:30 PM (Gallery Ballroom)<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Historically, dance has been an important social skill. Even our country\u2019s military academies make dance lessons mandatory for young cadets. Dance education develops grace, poise, posture and coordination and has been proven to be an inherent part of our culture. In keeping with these traditions, NCHE will host a dance on Thursday evening from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. There will be instruction on dances such as swing, box step and line dancing. This dance, with the emphasis on instruction, will be taught and lead by Dennis Ritchie, a retired homeschool dad who has taught cotillion for more than thirty years. Our teacher\u2019s teaching styles will put the students at ease regardless of their ability, and teens are encouraged to dance with many partners. The dress for these dances is modest casual (what you wear to the conference).<\/p>\n

College & Trades Fair: Friday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Piedmont 1)<\/strong><\/h4>\n

This is an opportunity for students to meet and talk with college and trades representatives. This will be open 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on Friday and is located in Piedmont 1, next to the vendor hall. In April you can find the list of colleges and trades, look in the menu under College & Trades Fair.<\/p>\n

Special Workshops for Teens

It is a priority of the NCHE conference to offer quality workshops for our homeschooled teens. We are excited to share our teen focused speakers with your family. Parents are welcome, of course, but these talks are suitable for teens to attend on their own. Activiteiten voor tieners en alumni: NCHE organiseert sociale activiteiten om de vriendschappen tussen onze tieners en alumni te bevorderen. Al deze activiteiten zullen onder toezicht van volwassenen plaatsvinden. Dansavond in cotillionstijl voor tieners en alumni: donderdag van 19:30 tot 21:30 uur (Gallery Ballroom). Dansen is van oudsher een belangrijke sociale vaardigheid. Zelfs de militaire academies van ons land stellen danslessen verplicht voor jonge cadetten. Dansonderwijs ontwikkelt gratie, elegantie, houding en co\u00f6rdinatie en is bewezen een inherent onderdeel van onze cultuur te zijn. In lijn met deze tradities organiseert NCHE een dansavond op donderdag van 19:30 tot 21:30 uur. Er zal les worden gegeven in dansen zoals swing, boxstep en linedansen. Deze dansavond, met de nadruk op instructie, zal worden gegeven en geleid door Dennis Ritchie, een gepensioneerde vader die zijn kinderen thuisonderwijs gaf en al meer dan dertig jaar cotillionlessen geeft. De lesmethoden van onze docent zorgen ervoor dat de studenten zich op hun gemak voelen, ongeacht hun niveau, en tieners worden aangemoedigd om met verschillende partners te dansen. De dresscode voor deze dansavonden is bescheiden casual (de kleding die je ook naar de conferentie draagt). Spelletjesavond voor tieners en alumni: vrijdag van 19:30 tot 21:30 uur (Gallery Ballroom). Op vrijdagavond is er een spelletjesavond van 19:30 tot 21:30 uur. NCHE zorgt voor kaarten, bordspellen en groepsspellen. Beurs voor hogescholen en beroepsopleidingen: vrijdag van 10:00 tot 15:00 uur (Piedmont 1). Dit is een gelegenheid voor studenten om vertegenwoordigers van hogescholen en beroepsopleidingen te ontmoeten en met hen te praten. De beurs is geopend van 10:00 tot 15:00 uur op vrijdag en bevindt zich in Piedmont 1, naast de beurshal. In april vind je de lijst met hogescholen en beroepsopleidingen in het menu onder 'Beurs voor hogescholen en beroepsopleidingen'. Speciale workshops voor tieners. Het is een prioriteit van de NCHE-conferentie om kwalitatief hoogwaardige workshops aan te bieden voor onze tieners die thuisonderwijs volgen. We zijn verheugd om onze sprekers die zich richten op tieners met jullie gezin te delen. Ouders zijn uiteraard welkom, maar deze lezingen zijn ook geschikt voor tieners om zelfstandig bij te wonen. Als je tieners hebt, of zelf tiener bent, dan zijn deze lezingen een absolute aanrader!
