Join NCHE for our first field trip to the NEW Kaleideum, 120 W 3rd Street in Winston-Salem!  Some of the exploration galleries include:
“By Design:”  where kids can design a building, craft pottery or design a dance routine
“In Motion:”  where kids can learn about physics by building a race car, engineering a roller coaster, or generating electricity with a stationary bike
“Our Nature:”  view time-lapse videos, use magnifiers to examine feathers and reptile scales, view unusual animals, or pretend to be a wild-life vet
“Wonders of Water:” engage with water in all three of its states by sculpting with ice, playing with light in a fog tunnel and controlling a waterfall
“Storytelling:”  create an animation, invent sound effects, practice reading and phonetics with a letter-munching dragon!

And, a special limited time interactive event will be open:  Ice Venture.  You’ll be able to dive into ice and snow while staying warm and dry.  Wear socks to “skate” on a pond, throw “snow” balls, decorate a snowman, experience the architecture of the Inuit people by building an igloo–and more!

Register now for this new experience!  Most visitors spend about 3-4 hours exploring and engaging with the exhibits.  Our check-in time is between 9:30 and 10 a.m.  You are welcome to bring in your lunch and enjoy it in Kaleideum’s lunchroom between 12 and 1. In addition to the general exhibits and galleries, any special shows (such as the Digital Dome planetarium and yet-to-be-listed others) will be available for you to purchase at the discounted MEMBER rate of $3 from Kaleideum’s admission center on the day of our trip when you identify yourself as part of our group.

Children (1 and up):  $11
First adult: FREE
Additional adults:  $11.50
