Join NCHE at Carolina Sunshine Alpaca Farm in Pittsboro. The farm will only be open to NCHE registrants on the day of our visit. Families will check-in and self-pace your learning experience, spending as much or little time as you wish in each area. Farm staff will be stationed throughout the property to tell about the animals and answer all your questions. Picnics are encouraged and educational coloring sheets and crayons will be available for all in the picnic shelter. Additionally, the farm will provide other fun things to do such as yard games, bubbles, and sidewalk chalk. Average visit time is 1-2 hours.
The farm is also offering an optional upgrade of a hayride (space limited). The wagons accommodate approximately 12 riders per time. Ride times will be 10, 10:20, 10:40, 11, 11:20, 11:40. Please select your ride time below. You will need to arrive/check-in a minimum of 15 minutes prior to your selected ride time. A waitlist will be created once wagon times are full.
Registration will be open until noon, on Sunday, November 8, 2026, or while space/supply lasts. Check-in will be between 9:45 and noon (select which works best for you). Admission is $10.25 for those 13 and older; $8.15 for children 3-12; $8.50 per person 3 and older for wagon rides. 2 and younger are free but still need to be counted in our registration.
Tickets are transferable to others for the same day and time but are non-refundable. This is a rain or shine field trip. No unaccompanied children/No unaccompanied adults. Registration deadline: Noon, November 8, 2026, or while space/supply lasts.
